Job Description

There is a possibility of the work term being virtual. If the work term becomes remote, we require students to be physically located in Canada.

Duration: 4 – 8 months (8 months preferred)

In this role, you will be a key member of a team that supports and maintains critical business applications within the Global Retirement technology portfolio. You will be exposed to a dynamic technical landscape that comprises numerous technology stacks across backend systems and websites. You will also learn about one of the fastest growing areas within a large financial services organization.

Workingin a fast-paced environmentalongside developers, analysts, vendors and internal business partners, you will have the opportunity to fix problems and investigate ways of doing things better. You will also contribute towardthe smooth operation of the team by keeping document libraries updated, maintaining reporting,improving processes andmanaging initiatives.

While this is a technical role, it will be adapted to suit varying proficiencies. Some of the technologies you will be exposed toare:SQL, .NET, C#, Unix, Oracle, Reporting Services, Java, NIFI, Kafka, Mainframeand many more.

Responsibilities:

  • Data analysis and maintenance
  • Troubleshooting and incident resolution
  • SharePoint site development and support
  • Coordination of effort across multiple teams
  • Ensuring adherence to quality standards and audit compliance
  • End-to-end management of small to medium sized projects
  • Reporting / Metrics

Qualifications:

  • Ability to learn quickly and a “figure it out” attitude
  • Strongwritten and oralcommunication skills
  • Customer service orientation
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Self-drivenwith an eye for process improvements

Technical Skills (Nice to Have):

  • Knowledge of SQL
  • Object orientedprogrammingconcepts
  • MicrosoftOffice Suite
  • Reporting tools (PowerBI, Pivot tables, etc.)
  • SharePoint
  • JIRA, ServiceNow, other intake/ticketing tools
