Responsibilities

Brookfield Renewable Energy is looking for a senior technical specialist focused on compute and storage services. The role requires the individual to manage all aspects of the infrastructure technologies related to various compute and storage services spread across on-premises environments and the Azure Cloud. Candidates should have an in-depth understanding of the various enterprise technologies described under “Core Skills” and a broad understanding of items listed under “Complimentary Skills”.

Core Skills

  • Windows Server Administration including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, File Services, ADFS, Storage Services, Internet Information Services, Public Key Infrastructure, PowerShell
  • Server Hardware Management preferably with HP and Lenovo gear
  • Storage Management preferably with HP and Lenovo gear
  • Identity Management preferably experience with Microsoft Identity Manager
  • Patch Management
  • Windows Desktop operating systems preferably with Windows 10
  • Windows Security and Baseline Management (GPO)
  • ITIL with preferable experience as a ServiceNow operator
  • Backup and DR Management preferably with Veeam and/or Microsoft Azure Backup Server
  • VMWare ESXi and Vcenter from version 5.1 to 6.7
  • Hyper-V

The role will be focused on operational sustainment of the IT infrastructure landscape. As the senior for the Compute and Storage Services Tower, the role will also be required to provide technical leadership to team members within the domain coupled with supporting projects requiring compute or storage services.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in IT
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a senior role such as Senior Systems Administrator or Senior Network Administrator
  • Experience working in a fast paced, dynamic, rapidly growing environment
  • Excellent communications skills and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent administrative, organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to deal effectively with a wide range of individuals.
  • Ability to travel (if required)
  • Ability to work after hours “If needed” to support incident resolution
  • Ability to foster partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Articulate solutions at both a technical level and business level
  • Have an agile mindset towards delivery
  • Quickly adopt new technologies with an “out of the box” thought pattern

Qualifications

  • Degree from recognized University or College, in Computer Science, Information Systems or a discipline relevant to the position or equivalent experience;
  • Microsoft Certifications or relevant experience
  • Candidates should have at minimum 8 years’ experience in large dynamic IT environments
  • Bilingual (French and English) considered an asset
