You will be responsible for establishing a new cross functional team working with the Clearing products used by some of the largest clearing houses in the world.

You and the team will be part of a larger organization working with the delivery of a clearing platform for some of the largest clearing houses in the world. You will be responsible for building up a new cross functional team in Toronto and together with teams in other locations make sure we deliver a product with outstanding quality and performance. You will be responsible for the delivery of the team, responsible for the staff and the budget and you will work closely together with other teams in other locations to make sure we deliver the best in class clearing product for clearing houses in all parts of the world.

You will work closely with product management to make sure the team is aligned with the product roadmap, make sure the team work together in an optimal way and together with product management work improving the product offering to our customers. You stay up to date on the latest technology trends and use them to make your teams more efficient and/or improving the product for our customers.

You will ensure that the development teams deliver with both great quality and speed using an agile mindset and modern ways of working such as TDD and CI/CD. You are used to working in a DevOps culture and working together with development teams in other locations and time zones. You can if needed also act as a scrum master and the architect for the team. You also need to ensure that team continuously improve by coaching the team members but also by doing code reviews, setting quality goals, doing tech talks and so on.

We have the mentality that if you build it, you own it, and this means that you will help the teams when a production incident occurs for our clients.

You are a multi-skilled, solution-oriented person with a positive can-do attitude. You are capable of working cross-functionally and internationally in a fast-changing environment. In our work things can change fast, so you are also flexible to changes in priorities.

You have experience from leading agile development teams but also from working with system architecture, performance and resiliency. You are used to your team deploying solutions both to the cloud and on prem using pipelines and infrastructure as code. If you have experience from high performance and high-volume transactions, software as a service and/or from the clearing domain that is a big advantage

Skills and experience

  • Passion backed by experience in driving development efficiency through championing automation, agile processes and modern tools usage within a large organization with a diverse set of languages and development methods.
  • A strong inner drive to continuously modernize, implement and evangelize to drive adoption of advanced development pipelines that enable engineers to continue to be awesome.
  • Excellent leadership, social, communication and organizational skills as you will build global relationships with executives, leaders and engineers at across geographies, time zones and cultures.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience
  • You will report to the Vice President Engineering – Professional Services that is based in Stockholm so you need to have experience working in remote teams. Since you will together with teams in other locations some travelling will be required.
