Reporting to the Senior Provincial Director of the Digestive Health Strategic Clinical Network (SCN) and working closely with the Scientific Office of the SCN, the Senior Analyst works with internal and external researchers and SCN staff to answer research and quality improvement questions using primarily administrative data sources available within Alberta Health Services.
The Senior Analyst will use their expert programming skills and statistical knowledge to transform data into analytical datasets and perform statistical analysis to support the research and quality improvement projects of the Digestive Health SCN. This includes deriving complex concepts and working with many different health related datasets (e.g. Discharge Abstract Database, National Ambulatory Care Reporting System, Pharmaceutical Information Network, Laboratory, Vital Statistics) in an organized manner and with great attention to detail. The Senior Analyst will be expected to perform statistical analysis (descriptive statistics and more advanced analysis including inferential and predictive statistics) as well as provide interpretations and methodology recommendations while being able to present findings in various formats. The Senior Analyst will also assist with preparation of manuscripts including creating tables and figures and assisting with writing and critical review for appropriate content and accuracy.The successful candidate will join a team of dedicated individuals striving to optimize the digestive health of all Albertans.
