As an Oracle Database Administrator, you will troubleshoot complex Oracle database systems versions from Oracle 11g to current, provide Oracle DBA support for production systems and provide DBA services to application development teams. This includes installing Oracle software, creating Oracle databases, performing upgrades of the database, starting up and shutting down the database, managing the database’s storage structures, managing users and security, managing schema objects, making database backups and performing recovery when necessary, proactively monitoring the database’s health and taking preventive or corrective action as required, monitoring and tuning performance. On this position, you will also participate in the automation of related tasks, Oracle DBAs creation of database-related scripts and programs to support development and production environments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, configuration and upgradation of Database on all environment
  • Implement distributed queuing on various platforms and clustering mechanism to reduce the administrative tasks
  • Work on triggering and work on both channel and application triggering by configuring channel initiators and trigger monitors
  • Manage database objects like tablespace, user, table, Index, roles, privileges, profiles, DB Links, materialized views, partitioning, synonyms, sequences, views and indexes and other database objects etc
  • Create physical/logical standby database and performing switch-over and fail-over
  • Drive performance & tuning, monitoring the performance using tools.
  • 10+ yrs of experience in offering Oracle DB2 support for application production support , maintenance & development team.
  • Ensure integrity, availability and performance of DB2 database systems by providing technical support and maintenance.
  • Monitor database performance and recommend improvements for operational efficiency.
