Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
We need someone who has knowledge in Oracle Database and Oracle EBS finance modules (Accounts Receivables) & Revenue areas, with nice to have exposure on ERP systems such as SAP. You would be responsible for detailed design based on high level design specifications, developing technical solution, and debugging software programs and integrations, build and execute unit test plans and unit testing in the areas of VMware’s SaaS and License product portfolios. You will be working using Agile Delivery methodologies and continuous integration and continuous delivery model. You would adopt test driven methodology and automated unit testing to ensure quality deliverables to test environments.
What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
As part of the Invoicing-to-Revenue team, you will be:
- Working with various cross domain technical teams to understand the overall architectural blueprint and align solutions to meet established standards
- Author detail level technical designs to build integrations with different applications
- Writing code for your team as an individual contributor using Oracle Database technologies (SQL and PL/SQL) and engage in performance tuning
- Getting exposed to the entire codebase while working cross-functionally with all the other development teams.
- Troubleshoot and debug applications
What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?
This Member of Technical Staff role will report to a Senior Manager managing Finance Applications for the Commerce and Finance Engineering group within Digital Transformation Division. This group is led by multi-dimensional team, composed of engineering and product management teams focused on delivering projects which enables business to effectively manage VMware’s SaaS and License product portfolios.
You will have an opportunity to team up with a geographically distributed team of Engineers, Product Managers, QE and DevOps staff in US, Canada, Costa Rica, Ireland and India. You will bring your technical experience / expertise in Oracle Database and Oracle EBS application development and drive the adoption of standard methodologies as we build a scalable platform for Finance requirements.
