Position Summary

The Corporate Accounting Manager (“Manager”) will oversee the accounting, consolidation, reporting and financial operations (including accounts payable and tax filings) of the Brookfield Infrastructure Group (“BIG”) Adviser, an entity that is integrated with Brookfield Asset Management (“BAM”). This role provides the foundation and exposure toward a challenging and dynamic career at Brookfield. The Manager will be involved with various key strategic projects and will work closely with several teams across Brookfield, including Finance, Tax, Treasury and IT.


  • Effectively coach, develop and mentor one direct report, the Corporate Accountant, to ensure accurate and timely completion of all assigned responsibilities and tasks
  • Ensure timely preparation of IFRS combined financial statements for the BIG Adviser on a quarterly basis
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the BIG Adviser, including accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, maintenance of the general ledger, and preparation of reconciliations as required
  • Oversee the preparation of month-end reconciliations and journal entries, as well as account analyses and invoice reports requested by internal teams
  • Review financial statements of the BIG Adviser, prepared for the purposes of annual corporate tax filings, as well as review the supporting schedules for HST filings
  • Preparation of liquidity forecasts on a monthly and quarterly basis, as well as the annual budget
  • Assist with the implementation of sales tax processes globally (including Canada HST, global GST, Luxembourg VAT), with macro driven workbooks
  • Assist with training users on our general ledger and accounts payable system, Microsoft Dynamics (“Dynamics”), and provide ongoing support to further refine/streamline the Dynamics Accounting and Payment system
  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of internal controls as well as policies and processes, mainly through automation and efficiencies
  • Ad hoc initiatives and tasks, as required


  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field; CPA preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive work experience in a full-cycle accounting function, familiar with legal entity structures and Accounting system implementation
  • Experience with ERP/Accounting system; knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 an asset
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • A self-starter with good interpersonal skills and the ability to quickly build relationships within their team and across departments
  • Strong analytical skills and proven track record of delivering results
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and to manage conflicting priorities
