The BI Analyst works on an exciting array of data, applications, and analytics related initiatives within the BI and Data Management Team. From understanding business challenges with internal stakeholders, to transforming these challenges to analytics projects, to finally delivering insightful analysis, visualizations, and datasets, the BI analyst will play a key role in all stages of the analytics value creation process. In order to succeed the analyst must demonstrate both sound technical knowledge and outstanding soft skills.


Solution Design and Implementation:

  • Develop advanced dashboards using tools such as Power BI, including working with underlying dataflows and datasets, dashboard design and implementation
  • Present, advocate, and showcase new business intelligence products to potential users
  • Work with cross-functional teams throughout the development process to understand different user needs and to action on feedbacks from test groups
  • Act as a line of contact between the project team and stakeholders to ensure project remains in scope and stakeholders are fully up to date on developments

Data Management:

  • Implement processes and create documentation to support the acquisition, validation, organization and storage of data, in order to establish a set of Certified Datasets to support analytics and reporting needs
  • Perform the extract, transform, and load (ETL) process for large datasets from diverse disconnected databases of both structured and unstructured type
  • Perform exploratory data analysis to identify patterns from historical data, generate and test hypotheses, and provide product owners with actionable insights
  • Evaluate query design, data structure, and data quality to provide recommendations for improvement as needed

Advanced Analytics:

  • Create customized and impactful visualizations, such as dashboards, of complex datasets to provide insights for diverse audiences ranging from executives to site staff
  • Translate complex functional and technical requirements through discussions and meetings with stakeholders into detailed architecture, design, and high performing solutions
  • Assist in identifying appropriate machine learning algorithms and implement them to support forward looking analytics and predictive modelling
  • Assist in development of segmentation, KPIs, and advanced analytics to drive marketing campaigns and pricing strategies


  • A bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or another quantitative field
  • 3+ years of experience in analytics or performance management, ideally in the real estate industry
  • Experience with programming languages including SQL, Python (e.g. scikit-learn and weka modules), R, and Spark preferred
  • Experience with data analytics and visualization tools such Power BI, including Power Query M and DAX, SAS or Alteryx
  • Experience with cloud technologies such as Azure Data Factory, Databrick, would be an asset
  • Experience with SAP ERP/BW/BPC suite preferred
  • Creative, innovative, and critical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills
