Candidates are invited to apply for the full-time position of Business Development Coordinator supporting the Extendicare Assist team at our Corporate Office located in Markham, Ontario.

The successful candidate will promote Extendicare to potential business partners, maintain positive relationships with existing partners, and provide day-to-day administrative support to the managed homes and affiliated partners within the Vice President and Directors portfolios.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with preparing and maintaining promotional material
  • Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities
  • Conduct environmental scans to maximize potential growth within the sector
  • Coordinate all event planning details on behalf of the division including event execution for various trade shows/conferences and client meetings
  • Assist with the preparation of presentations and materials for prospective clients
  • Assist with the submission of RFP’s for the business development portfolio – providing administrative support
  • Data analytics including coordinating, gathering and summarizing basic information/data from the homes within the portfolio to support
  • Process invoices and payables for Extendicare Assist department
  • Coordinate all aspects of meetings for the department – from agenda preparation to minute taking and distribution
  • Schedule appointments, meetings and travel arrangements for the Vice President
  • Provide various support to Regional Directors and Extendicare Assist partner homes (i.e. follow-up regarding various reporting requirements, keeping senior management abreast of issues, administrative support with special projects, etc.)
  • Office administrative duties: manage client database, client files, mass mailings, login credentials, sales team pipeline, bed count report etc.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years’ professional experience in business development or marketing role
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Strong communications skills (both written and verbal with various stakeholders)
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative on projects related to business development
  • Customer service orientated, displaying confidence and exceptional social skills
  • Ability to multi-task and organize/prioritize various ongoing projects
  • Ability to be self-directed and work autonomously
  • Experience in event planning
  • Knowledge of government and sector issues within long-term care
  • Ability to understand and synthesize information related to the long-term care sector
  • Knowledge and experience in senior care sector would be considered an asset
