Job title: Business Analyst – Application Configuration Management
Qualifications:
- Science, Technology, Business or related field degree from a recognized higher education institution or combination of professional training and relevant experience;
- 2-4 years’ experience in either IT business analysis or application configuration management or combination of equivalent experience, preferably working in an Agile environment;
- Experience gathering business requirements and converting them into application configuration design with subsequent implementation of system configuration;
What a new hire will be responsible for:
- Capture and translate high level objectives and business needs received from the Program manager (Account manager) or Product owner into system configuration design;
- Provide Tier 1-3 Support of the software product for Program manager and external clients while performing issues resolution in timely manner and with high quality degree;
- Provide input into configuration related production support issues as requested by the line of business line or R&D team;
- Gather, analyze, understand business and user requirements and formally document them as a system configuration design;
- Work with BA manager to ensure all configuration requirements are captured and clarified to allow grooming technical stories and execute them without ambiguities;
- Develop appropriately detailed stories for product configurations and features so that they are clearly understood by the technical and business teams;
- Working with the Program Managers and Product owner to establish configuration management procedures, effective micro project management, and delivery processes for the product line and specific projects;
- Provide support to backend or frontend development teams with troubleshooting issues related to the application configuration;
- Manage, monitor and document project/sprint stories/deliverables and report progress, issues, dependencies, risks of release to the line manager and Director of development
- Support the development team in completion of impact assessments and to be hands on to help with implementation of application configuration;
What experience a candidate is bringing to the team:
- Experience building, configuring and testing of enterprise software deployment packages including producing detailed configuration design, deployment notes and other documents required to support the system configuration implementation;
- Knowledge of configuration technical standards and application configuration management practices;
- Experience in providing client support for software product with general understanding of SLA management;
- Competency with highly configurable applications, analysis and definition of data and functional process requirements in support of business operational and reporting needs to create and maintain a detailed project schedule and/or integrated plan;
- Experience in software projects, overseeing deliverables through all SDLC phases in Agile/Scrum project environment;
- Ability to execute system configuration and application upgrades independently or collaboratively with development team;
- An ability to communicate in both business/end user and technical language within organization and with external clients;
- Strong time management, prioritization management, change management, analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Adaptability to learn new technologies on the fly in a dynamic environment;
- Proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving team environment
Desired technical skills :
- Working knowledge of software technology capabilities and experience with API/Microservices development process;
- Basic knowledge of software development principles, understanding of Microservices architecture and object-oriented programming;
- Some knowledge/experience working with JSON files in web environment;
- Experience working with software development and collaboration tools, like JIRA, Confluence;
