Job Description

Huawei’s Vancouver Research Center is responsible for advanced technology research, architecture design and strategic technical planning. Our Big Data and Artificial Intelligence Lab is responsible for developing and researching next generation AI technology. We believe that the success of AI for human-beings requires us to efficiently, fairly and securely use data and create AI products . We embrace cutting-edge technology if it improves our work or results. Our team consists of world class AI researchers and is agile with academic and industrial experience in artificial intelligences and operations research.

Responsibilities

This role involves assisting the senior researcher to evaluate novel machine learning and deep learning algorithms, especially algorithms on cloud-edge collaboration and work on large-scale datasets, focusing on creating scalable and accurate computer vision systems in versatile application fields. You will have an opportunity to collaborate with top AI researchers in the area.

Qualifications

  • Computer science, mathematics, statistics or related discipline
  • Strong programming skills
  • Good in Mathematics
  • Currently enrolled in a university and registered with school’s co-op program
  • Co-op role is open to bachelor/ masters and phD

Plus

  • Experience in computer vision and machine learning
  • Demonstrated ability interacting with product and engineering teams to frame business problems into scalable machine learning solutions.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
